It is likely to be part of a wider development involving around 200 to 250 homes and a hotel.

 Over 60 people gathered on Wednesday (15th Feb) to hear the update from Paul Johnson of TransWilts. Paul was there to talk about the proposed railway station on land close to the A36 Park and Ride facility alongside the existing railway line to Salisbury.

 In September 2015 Wilton Town Team and the Town Council paid for an ‘initial concept proposal’ for the ambitious £5.5m Wilton Parkway station.

 Wilton Estate has joined Wilton Town Council in financing the latest planning work and progress, paying for drawing-up the necessary documents for the next stage of the process.

Similar schemes being worked on for Royal Wootton-Bassett and Corsham are much further behind in their planning stages, but are already hinting they’re aiming to be open by 2020.
