We are delighted to announce the formation of Wilton Men’s Shed

The idea draws on the successful Mens Shed Movement in Australia where more than 1,000 Sheds have formed in just over a decade to tackle the issue of isolation.

Open to men (and women!) of all ages, Wilton Mens Shed will provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for anyone wanting to learn new skills or share existing ones, working side by side on projects of their own or for the wider community. The Shed will be led by the members who decide when they come and what projects they do.

Activities like woodwork, metalwork repairs  and renovations will take place, however, the most important benefit of the Shed is simply getting together on a regular basis and chatting over a cuppa.

Wiltons Men’s Shed will be based in the Enterprise Hub on the Redrow development opposite the Park and Ride and with ample free parking.

The Shed will be kitted-out with workbenches and tools. Zoe Cupit, Wilton Community Land Trust Manager said ‘We hope that the local community will become involved in the project, both by using and promoting the Shed to others, but also we will be looking for donations of tools and equipment from local people and organisations’.
