Wilton Community Land Trust is proud to announce that the Redrow/OurEnterprise consortium is the preferred bidder for Erskine Barracks redevelopment site. This decision heralds a major land mark in the changes to the planning system and the concept of localism, in which the community is taking a leading role in its future and ensuring a legacy that the community can continue to be part of.
Wilton Land Trust Chairman Ken Taylor said: ‘We are delighted that the community has been given the opportunity to influence this development from the inside. We are grateful to the team and particularly grateful to John Glen MP who has given our community outstanding support throughout the process.’
OurEnterprise put together the consortia based around sustainable housing, local employment, community involvement and a state of the art veterans’ facility. Matthew Bell from OurEnterprise said; ‘I am extremely pleased with this outcome and the opportunity this gives us to develop a state of the art Military Veterans facility in addition to the community’s declared vision. Now the hard work starts.’
